One in three children in the UK lives in poverty. Economic background has a significant impact on a child's educational attainment and on their social and emotional well-being and development. This inequality is visible in and outside of the classroom; research has shown that children from low-income backgrounds will have experienced fewer extra-curricular activities than children from more wealthy backgrounds. These activities might include visits to the museum or zoo or opportunities to learn musical instruments.
If you are interested in Branch Up as a parent or would like to refer a child to our service then please contact Rosie.

You are then expected to attend an informal selection workshop where we will assess your communication skills and commitment to Branch Up. This is a non-competitive process, we are simply ensuring that all of our volunteers understand their responsibility and are able to create a safe environment and fun day for the children!
Once through this selection process, you will be invited to a compulsory training session where we will cover child protection and safeguarding alongside providing other information on behaviour management and responsibilities.
