Apply to join our executive or sub-committees for the next academic year!
March 2018 - March 2019
Interested in joining the Southampton Hub student committee?
Being part of the executive committee or sub-committee for Southampton Hub is a great way to improve your skills, get relevant experience, learn from other students and make our current projects even more successful.
If you're enthusiastic, passionate, driven and want to learn from other students and the Southampton Hub staff team, this is a great opportunity for you. First and second year students are particularly encouraged to apply - we give you all the support you need!
What can I apply for?
An executive role is great if you're looking for experience in running a project, managing other volunteers, running events, building relationships with community partners and getting an in-depth experience of what it's like to be involved with a charity. These roles do take more time, so are particularly good for first and second year students.
A sub-committee role is great if you want to support the project but are potentially looking for more experience or a less time-intensive role, for example if you are a final year or postgraduate student.
When do I need to apply?
The deadline is midday/12pm on Tuesday 19th March. All positions will be voted on at our AGM on Wednesday 20th March, 2-4pm, room TBC on Highfield Campus.
All applicants are encouraged to apply online so either our committee or Southampton Hub staff can arrange a short informal conversation about the role and what it involves.
What if I’m unsure about applying?
If you would like to speak to somebody about what’s expected as part of the executive or sub-committee, speak to the current committee member or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we can put you in touch with the relevant person. Our Southampton Hub Awards on Wednesday 13th March (6.15pm-8pm) is a great place to chat to our committee and staff about what the roles involve too!
We are an inclusive organisation and can make reasonable adjustments to the application process and committee role on a case-by-case basis. We also provide ongoing support for the students we work with, so if you have particular accessibility needs, please do get in touch at email@example.com.
